London

22 & 23 April, 2015

Great Britain means very much to me. I am visiting the country since I can remember and I am complete and truly in love with it (and the people). So I was more than happy to book my short trip to London.

DAY 1
My easyjet flight took off late in the morning, gave me a hot seat neighbour and landed one hour later in London. I took a deep london-air-breath when I got of the plane and took the train to Victoria Station. From there the district line to West Brompton and a view steps later I was standing in front of the Sara Hotel, my stay for the night.
The weather was sunny and warm and I was so surprised how beautiful London looks in spring. It kills me every time.
After a little finical problem with my card (I'll make this short - it took me one hour to fix it) and an almoust nerve-wracking breakdown I made my way to Westminster to say hello to my good friend Ben.
The weather was still so nice that I was just walking around a it before I got back to the Hotel to change for dinner.
I took the bus to Chelsea and made my way to the bluebird restaurant I got to know though one of my favorite tv-shows made in chelsea. I had a very delicious dinner.

And with a lovely walk home and a little ice cream in front of the tv ended my lovely fist day in London.

Hartelijk Bedankt Amsterdam

25 March, 2015 to 27 March, 2015

DAY 3
My last day in Amsterdam was very short, 'cause ma flight left early in the afternoon. The Grand Café Mynt was so near to my hotel that I've decided to have my last breakfast there. The Pancakes with maple sirup where delicious.
After that I check out of the hotel an put my bags into the luggage room. I went for one last walk along the canals before I had to take the train to the Airport.
THE RÉSUMÉ
Amsterdam is a very very lovely city. Perfect for short stays and the architecture is breathtaking! The Hotel was more than perfect and can absolutely recomennd it !
Avenue Hotel :) I'll definitely visit Amsterdam again to see how it looks in summer and to take a long drive with a bike.

Tak Amsterdam !

Amsterdam

25 March, 2015 to 27 March, 2015

DAY 2
I slept very very good in my bed. It was a bit colder than the day before and it was drizzling so the perfect weather for shopping and visiting museums. I had breakfast near the hotel in a fancy restaurant/bar/club the Grand Café Mynt. Delicious Sausages, eggs, bacon and beans - the perfect start for a good day.
I made my way to the "oude kerk" (old church) and then straight to the announced Van Gogh Exhibition at Beursplein 5. It was amazing to see all the work from him and also my one and only favourite Van Gogh was shown (original hanging at the Kröller-Müller Museum, Netherland).
Right next to the Van Gogh Exhibition was the Body-Worlds: The Happiness Project, which I absolutely didn't want to miss. And I was right - it was breathtaking! Unfortunately it wasn't allowed to take pictures.
Further on I was walking along the canals and just enjoying the city.
I had lunch at the CAU Amsterdam which a friend recommended.
I took the train downtown to Leidseplein. A good friend told me that's the place to be in Amsterdam for shopping and having drinks. I window-shopped a bit, walked by a bunch of very cute cafes and coffee-shops and just enjoyed the city.
And this is how my second day ended. And I was really sad that the last day was soon to come.

Amsterdam

25 March, 2015 to 27 March, 2015

Amsterdam was the first city I visited all by myself. That was kind of a big step for me. I am 21, but I've never been fully alone to another city without knowing anyone there. But on the other side I was also super excited! I've seen and heard so much about Amsterdam from my Friends and I couldn't wait to walk along the canals and see the beautiful small houses.

DAY1
My flight departed late in the morning. I just love to flight. I love airports. The busy being, the stewardesses running around and the excited faces waiting for their flight to come and to take them to different dream places.
I arrived in Amsterdam Schiphol in time to a cloudy and cold weather. I took the train from the Airport to Amsterdam Centraal.I booked a Hotel near the Centaal so that I would have a short way with my suitcase.

The Avenue Hotel was very easy to find. The Receptionist welcomed me very friendly and gave me all the informations I needed to know. I had a single bed room on the end of a very long corridor on the first floor. The Room was quite big. I set all my things and took a after-flight-shower and then I made my way though the city. The "main" shopping street was right behind the Hotel so I had it very easy.
For the rest of the day I was walking around the city, which I figured out was smaller than I thought. I wish I could reconstruct the exact streets that I've been walking but it's impossible. Amsterdam really is about walking most of the time and not knowing where exactly you are. But on the Map below you basically see where I've been on my fist day.
Later that day I was looking for a restaurant to have dinner. I found this lovely place near the Hotel. "Breakfast, Lunch &Dinner" the De Vergulde Lantaarn. Traditional pea soup as starter and a fine beefsteak with fries made a lovely end of the day.
